The chat show host, 43, has become pals with Harry and his wife Meghan Markle and lives just an hour and a half away from the couple's sprawling mansion in Montecito, California.

Speaking to The Sun, James revealed he and wife Julia Carey have been for dinner with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their kids also spend time together.

Asked if he had been to the couple's £11million home, James said: 'I have. It was more a sort of play date scenario [with the kids]. Then we went out for dinner after, it was lovely.'

James and Julia are parents to children Max, 11, Carey, seven, and Charlotte, four, while Prince Harry and Meghan share Archie, three, and Lilibet, 11 months.

(Yeah, I just bet you schlepp 90 minutes each way on a regular basis so your children can play with Archie and his sister.)

The article gives the impression Corden just announced the end of his show, he gave the announcement at least 3 wks. to a month ago. I wouldn't be surprise he jumps on the Archewell bandwagon. The Sussexes will use him and then ghost him.
Interesting, Corden gushes over Harry's "parenting", but doesn't mention Meghan at all.

I liked him in History Boys.

I can't really see kids that age playing with a toddler and a baby who likely can't even walk yet. Probably used Nanny Teevee while the parents went out.

If one has to cast a net 90 minutes away to find play dates for kids with put-of-sync ages, that sounds a tad desperate. Of course, in LA, 90-minutes travel might only cover 5 miles. Whatever 🤪

Two thoughts: These people (Corden as well as the Sussexes) only talk about the play dates with other famous families. In this case they think each party reflects well on the other, a sort of mutual name dropping.

Other idea is that Meghan is too famous for the children of other people to play with her own. Didn't she say as much not long ago?

The Royal Family will use events around the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee to bring Harry and Meghan closer to the rest of the family, according to one expert.

After years of bad blood, Kate Mansey, assistant editor at the Mail on Sunday says she believes that the Queen wants a rapprochement with the Sussexes who quit royal working life in 2020.

‘There is generally a sense that they want to bring the Sussexes in, I think. They will be invited to lots of family occasions, just not the big, official numbers,’ she tells our royal talk show Palace Confidential.

(How many family occasions will there be?

We've already been told that Prince William and Catherine will visit Wales, the Earl and Countess of Wessex will go to Northern Ireland, and the Princess Royal will visit Scotland during the Jubilee weekend and that Charles and Camilla will likely attend events in London.

The working royals aren't going to have a lot of free time to play Happy Families with Harry, his wife and kids.)

That doesn’t mean the initial encounters won’t be awkward says the Daily Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English, with much speculation about how the Sussexes will interact with the rest of the royals at a Jubilee thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral on June 3.

(Do we know that the service at ST Paul's has been designated a "family" event and/or that the California branch of the family will attend?)

‘But as one source said to me the other week, the body language is going to be fascinating. I just hope for the Queen’s sake it doesn’t overshadow everything else that’s going on over the weekend.’

(So, stop writing about them. Celebrate the 70 years the Queen has reigned and find something that happened during those 70 years to write about)

I'm sure the Windsors, as a family, would like the rift to be healed and to be on good relations with the Sussexes. But all the Sussexes want is for the royal family to passively allow themselves and the monarchy to be exploited and denigrated for the profit of Harry and Meghan.

The invitation to attend family events might have been issued, but BP hasn't defined just what is a family event and what is an official event. Personally, I have a hard time imagining Meghan making the trip if she isn't guaranteed photos holding Lili next to the queen, up on the balcony with the kids or riding in a carriage. She sure isn't going to maneuvered into a situation where she is photographed curtsying to Catherine. Harry might come solo, but I doubt that we'll see the Sussexes en famille.

There are no occasions when she has to curtsy to Catherine (and William is on record as wanting to do away with bowing and curtseying). What we will see, if they attend the service at St Paul, is Harry's wife make a big display of curtsying to the Queen and Charles (but not Camilla).

Hoping the seating gets assigned so that Harry and wife are seated across the aisle from the Queen, Charles and Camilla, and the Cambridge family. That would make it impossible for them to get a money shot with the Queen.

The women will more than likely be instructed to wear red, white, or blue, same as the last Jubilee, so she'll probably show up in canary yellow or grass green.

Meghan will probably wear that same ill fitting dress that she wore at their last Commonwealth service. No, she'll wear something that contradicts what the other women are wearing so she'll stand out.
I'm not so sure about this article, again, it's based on "insiders" ie. the Harkles via Sunshine Sachs. If the Royal Family wants to reel them back in despite being repeatedly burned over and over by the Harkles, then they can only be labeled as foolish.
The minute the Harkles return to Calif., the back stabbing will begin anew and Harry is still going ahead with his saga story in the book.

Meghan undoubtedly sent that green thing back to the designer as part of a merch deal. I think she'll wear black or cream if she shows up at any of the Jubilee things. We already know the outfits will be merched loaners, ill-fitting, and inappropriate. My question is, will she try to bill the Duchy of Cornwall for the retail cost of the clothes and then return the stuff and pocket the money, like I'm convinced she did when she was a "working" royal?

I still don't think Meghan will go to the Jubilee if she can't be front-and-center, or at least standing next to the queen for the cameras.

She may try to get a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood instead. All she'll need is a nomination (James Corden?), the $40,000 fee and to be agree to be present for the unveiling ceremony. There would be a lot of hoopla about being the first royal since Grace Kelly to have a star (no real comparison) but that's the kind of fuel and affirmation Meghan craves.

The Duke of Sussex is set to help 'launch an online safety toolkit' for children in a webinar next week.

Prince Harry, 37, who is currently living in his $14 million mansion in California having stepped back from royal duty last year, will speak at 5Rights Foundation's Making Child Online Safety a Reality webinar next Monday.

According to an online description about the event it is 'the launch of the Global Child Online Safety Toolkit', with details reading: 'Our special guest, Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex will be in conversation with youth advocates from around the world to discuss what’s needed to make child online safety a reality. The event will also feature speakers from the United Nations, African Union, and European Union.'

It is unknown what fee the Duke will receive for the appearance - last year, experts predicted he and Meghan, 40, could earn more than £1million each time they do a speech after signing up with an elite agency.

Harry is as much as an expert on online child safety as Meghan is an expert on working mothers and their lives.

Omid Scobie, who penned a biography on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, says the Harry had discussed the possibility of not being present for Trooping the Colour at the Mall in London on June 2 with Her Majesty.

He said despite this the couple are 'very keen' to be part of the arrangements in the coming months, including the Thanksgiving celebrations at St Paul's Cathedral."

Oh, now it's coming out per Scobie that the Sussexes never wanted to appear on the balcony....the statement comes out quite a while after the initial announcement.....looks more like a sour grapes statement. If they are allowed to attend the Thanksgiving Service, then Andrew should be allowed for the reason I gave in an earlier thread last week or the week before.
