€12M per Year!

Yikes, I missed that part of the article that says the contract is for €12 million per year!

I wonder if they executed the contract in France or Switzerland as individuals (rather than as head of state and spouse) to avoid any claim of sovereign immunity by Albert. I also wonder how the press discovered this. Now the separate apartment in old town Monaco makes even more sense.

It’s sad that a marriage is such a state. I really feel sorry for the Princess. I don’t think she’s doing it for the money but rather to stay in her children’s lives.

I think there's more truth than rumor to this story. The time Charlene spent in Switzerland may not have been only for rehabilitation, but for both spouses to work on a contract.
I agree Charlene's goal is to stay in her children's lives and also to keep Nicole Costa at bay. It is such a sad marriage, it's a marriage that "should never have happened" but there are two lovely children out of it, that each parent loves very much.
I've wondered why we haven't heard anything concerning the Brazilian woman and her paternity claim against Albert, if it was quietly settled, now I know. This claim was, I believe, the final straw for Charlene, it's sad.

Agreed that it's very sad. I do think Charlene did have a mental breakdow and that she's in recovery. The twins have parents, aunts, and cousins who seem to adore them and I think that will help them. I don't think there's any love lost between Caroline and Charlene, but I think Charlene might be getting some support from Stephanie, at least where the kids are concerned.

I agree. True...I have always thought there was more to the story and this makes sense.
