The Queen's message

As ever the Queen hits the right note in her message for Christmas.
And HM wore her mother's shell and pearl brooch.
I cannot yet find a link but will add one later.

HM acknowledged all the work of everyone.

I did like the NHS choir at the end. It's amazing how everyone can sing at such a time as this.

Nellie, I've done a lot of singing in school and church choirs. I think it easier singing with others. I could not do solos now. Singing a familiar Christmas song is almost automatic.

One of my favorites is "The Messiah". It is very uplifting.

I couldn't carry a note if you put handles on it. Very frustrating since I come from a very talented musical and artistic family. Then there's me.

Once again, the queen hit the right notes. The video was just long enough to cover everything without being even a few seconds too long. On the sequence of photos near the end ... were those photos from Catherine's "100 photos" project?

Carolyn, one of my favorite activities at Christmastime is a Messiah sing-along. I have had my own copy of the score for 30+ years. Not worn out yet. But, alas, no sing-along this year. But I still sing along with my CD!

i used to sing in a church choir. I was never good enough for solos. I can still reach the really high notes in the Hallelujah Chorus, though!

Oh, not me. I'm definitely an alto. I used to sing in a church choir also, but hearing got so bad, I couldn't hear myself to know if I was on pitch!

Yes Carolyn, it is easier with others, like so many things. I was only ever in the school choir but certainly say along at church.

And thank you to Karen for finding the link. I hunted for a long time without success.

Definitely the Messiah, I play it from the start of Advent until Epiphany. Then I play it for Easter.
The Queen's Christmas Message is clear and concise, but she never sugar coats it or gives false hope. I'm not super devout, but I like her inclusion of parables and stories from the Bible/Christ's life. She's able to show how those situations are reflected in our lives in 2020/2021.

I'm sure the DOE's photo was chosen because if other photos were there and not the Casa del Sussexes, there would be howls from the press and the sugar pops.

Really, if the Harkles want to make an issue out of the "hidden messages" of the family photos on display then why don't they gift the queen with one of those electronic photo screens that hold hundreds of photos that automatically change every few seconds? You can send new photos automatically via upload software. I'm sure you-know-who could find an angle to merch the screen so she didn't have to actually pay for it.

To be fair HM also highlighted the other members of the family's work pandemic work this past year.

The message was made available on Amazon Echo, Twitter, Facebook and You Tube at around 3:15pm UK time after it had it's traditional broadcast on the TV Channels.
