Thoughts about the move out of Frogmore Cottage

The timing is interesting.

Two weeks ago today was Remembrance Sunday. Is moving out of Frogmore Cottage a knee jerk reaction to Harry's wreath request being denied? Moving out under the cover of darkness would make sense - neither the Queen nor the Californians would want the move to overshadow their respective observances of the day.

These stories have obviously been leaked by the Californians. Harry, Meghan, Eugenie, and Jack have been dubbed the new 'Fab Four'? One article even claimed that royal aides came up with that designation.

The details of Edward's and Andrew's leases with the Crown Estate are available on Wikipedia. Eventually somebody will do some investigating and find out what are the terms of the lease on Frogmore Cottage.

Eugenie moving there could be a short-term solution allowing her to live close to her parents now while they consider other options. And the Californians might be happy to have somebody else paying the rent for a while since COVID makes it impossible for them to visit the UK and be certain they all could return to the US.

I read that the refusal to allow Harry to have a wreath laid for Remembrance Day was done by the military - not by the Queen. Is that not the case?

As for Frogmore, it makes sense to lease it out to someone else. I don't see Meghan or Archie ever returning to the UK - if Harry were to come back, there are other places he could stay.

In re-reading the article, I think this is a nothing story. It's no surprise that the Harkles aren't coming back to live in or visit London, so it made no sense for them to keep paying on the lease for Toad Hall. It made even less sense for the house to deteriorate after spending so much money to renovate it up to modern standards. The cousins spoke to each other directly and came to an agreement, which was then run by HM. I doubt very much that anyone was "blindsided" by H & M not wanting to keep paying for a house they'll never inhabit. We had already speculated here on who might take over the lease on Toad Hall and the Brooksbanks were the mostly logical choice.

As for the timing of the lease being turned over to Jack and Eugenie, could it be coincidental to the Remembrance wreath not being laid for Harry and not a reaction to same? The cousins have stayed in touch over the time that the H & M left England, so it may have been discussed and approved months ago. Although the moving vans in the middle of the night does have me intrigued.

"Sources" are claiming that it's still the Californians UK base. We're going to have to wait and see what happens if/when either of them make a trip to the UK.

The place isn't big enough to accommodate both couples, their babies, two nannies, etc. And I doubt Eugenie will tolerate Meghan bossing around the staff any more than Catherine did. Nor can I see Eugenie vacating the place temporarily when the other two want to use the place giving Meghan the opportunity to rummage through her possessions.

I can imagine Meghan, in a fit of pique upon learning that nobody would be laying a wreath for Harry, telling Harry to give the place back.

But I can equally see somebody pointing out that Eugenie and Jack want to live closer to Fergie, at least temporarily, so that Fergie can help out with the baby, and due to COVID, it's difficult for them to find somewhere suitable that doesn't need reno work. I just hope that if it's true that Harry retains the leasehold, he and Meghan don't decide to evict Euegnie, Jack, and baby without a decent amount of notice.

The spin that the two couples will share the space when the Harkles are in town is laughable. I think the purpose of that line is to keep alive the illusion that H & M might come back to London, which is good pr for marketing their royal connection. Actually, I think it's a good idea for the Brooksbanks to take over the lease. It will probably be taken back at the review in March anyway, so it makes sense to have Jack and Eugenie move in now.

In the many Harkle articles over the last few months, it has been mentioned several times that Harry remains close to Eugenie and that the two couples have stayed in touch and talked over Zoom. Were these mentions precient or were they hints being dropped?

That's the important detail the press is conveniently forgetting, Frogmore Cottage is a Crown Estate, HM is the owner and makes the decisions regarding what happens, not the Harkles, they don't "own" Frogmore Cottage. I can't picture Eugenie and Jack going being HM's "back" and agreeing to a shady, in the dark deal with the Harkles. Eugenie is close to her parents and if she mentioned any deal, Andrew would be quick enough inform Eugenie and Jack, all "deals" go through the Queen.
This all has to be Harkle PR. I've read several stories in the last year in the various tabloids that repeat how angry Andrew, Sarah and Eugenie became at the Harkles upstaging Eugenie's wedding with the baby announcement and subsequently snubbing the evening wedding reception. I don't think Harry and Eugenie are close any more, Meghan wouldn't allow it. The new "Fab Four", that's Harkle propaganda.

Meanwhile the Duke of Sussex, 36, who is currently living in his $14 million mansion in Santa Barbara with Meghan Markle, 39, having stepped back from royal duty in March, has not made any public statement on the matter.

Speaking to The Sun, Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, criticised Prince Harry for his silence, saying: 'He is normally so keen on letting his opinions be known — why hasn’t he done so in this case and stood by his brother to share the responsibility?'

She went on to call it 'odd' that he hadn't 'spoken out' about the case, because he has recently been vocal about other topics, including the US election and Black Lives Matter.

Ingrid continued: 'Harry should really man up and forget the fallout with his brother.'

Some hours later, another article appears. Headline reads: Harry joins William in 'drive for truth' over controversial Diana Panorama interview and slams critics for 'using it to drive a wedge between the brothers'

Yet the "source" wastes no time in taking a potshot at William, stating: ‘You do not need a public statement to imagine how he is feeling privately, people know how much his mother means to him.

‘He has bravely spoken out in the past about loss and grief, and the immense impact it has had on him.’

Article goes on to tell us that's he's understood to be in close contact with his uncle. But Lord Spencer isn't backing the BBC's inquiry because he feels its scope is too narrow.

Harry isn't speaking out because Meghan hasn't told him what to say.

Diana's death had a profound effect on both of her sons, but they have different personalities and will handle the new information differently. But it's very interesting that the Prince of Woke Bossiness hasn't popped up to claim that he's the victim in all of this, and instruct us in what to think and how to react.

I'm waiting to see if Harry tells William how ro think and act about the Panorama interview. That would be fireworks--behind the scenes on William's part, of course--but another chance for wee Harry to cry victim at evil big brother.

Harry can't speak out, Meghan hasn't written down a speech for him to spout out and he's under Netflix's thumb. The new season for The Crown is underway as we all know, and it's about Diana, this season or next the Panorama interview will come out. If Harry speaks out, he bites the hand feeding him. If Harry really had a conscience and a spine, he would join his brother and speaking out, he won't, he's a coward and he can't cross his wife and risk the money being lost.

The "sources" are the Harkles through Omid Scobie, I'll bet. "Trying to drive a wedge between the brothers?" The wedge has been there for a long time, Harry, and you started it or I should say you and your wife.

"Being updated" is passive, it's not taking the situation by the horns. I'd be more impressed if Harry cancelled his deal with Netflix over the way is family is portrayed, but then his family would have to be more important that the money he's getting from Netflix.

It's interesting that about 3-4 mons. ago Jessica was on social media stating Meghan wouldn't contact her or reply to messages Jessica sent to her or recognize Jessica's daughter's birthday. Suddenly, Jessica came out soon after and claimed all the stories about the friendship ending on Meghan's part was fake news.
I don't think the two are friends anymore in Meghan's eyes, but she may be throwing a bone at Jessica every once and a while to keep Jessica from speaking out or writing a book and revealing secrets Meghan doesn't want outed.

Jack and Eugenie moving in. I hope the Harkles shipped that stupid bathtub with the rest of their stuff. That was tacky. Shipping all their stuff from the UK to Calif. had to have cost a wad, but money means nothing to them. Of course, who would want the stuff, Eugenie wants her own furniture and things.
