It's also due to the fact that the Patron of the Scottish Rugby Union never fails (unless it's unavoiable) to attend the Scottish matches. I have the memory of sitting in a bus at traffic lights. There was a small group of people waiting to cross the road. The road the bus was travelling on crosses the road that leads down to Holyroodhouse Palace. A murmur went round the bus as we realised that one of the people waiting to cross the road was the Princess Royal. A slightly louder voice on the bus was then heard to say "Oh, of course, Scotland are playing at Murrayfield today" Murrayfield Stadium is the Scottish Rudgby Stadium. Murmurs of agreement went round the bus. Also we all had smiles on our faces. Milan is in the North of Italy and the Olympic Ceremony was 2 days ago. So Anne and Tim attended the Opening Ceremony on Friday and travel down to Rome to be at the Rugby match on Saturday. Unsung heroes they definitely are.
