Their Majesties The King and Queen and members of the Royal Family will attend engagements to mark Remembrance in 2025.
Thursday 6th November
The Queen will visit the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey.
Saturday 8th November
The King and Queen and members of the Royal Family will attend the annual Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.
Sunday 9th November
The King and Queen and members of the Royal Family will attend the annual Remembrance Day Service at The Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday.
The King will lay a wreath, the design of which pays tribute to the wreath of His Majesty’s grandfather, King George VI, and Queen Elizabeth II. The wreath’s poppies are mounted on an arrangement of black leaves, as is traditional for the Sovereign, and its ribbon bears the King’s racing colours of scarlet, purple and gold. The royal racing colours were also incorporated into the wreaths of King George V, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II.
The Queen’s wreath will be laid on Her Majesty’s behalf by her equerry. The Queen’s wreath will bear Her Majesty’s racing colours, inherited from her grandfather, and echoes the wreath of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
The King and Queen’s wreaths have been produced by The Poppy Factory.
The Prince of Wales will lay the wreath previously laid by His Majesty The King as the former Prince of Wales, featuring Prince of Wales feathers. The wreath now bears a ribbon in Welsh red.
The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, will attend a remembrance service and lay a wreath at the Anzac Memorial in Sydney, Australia, during her visit to celebrate the centenary of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals, as colonel-in-chief.
Tuesday 11th November
The Princess of Wales will visit the National Memorial Arboretum for a Service of Remembrance at the Armed Forces Memorial to commemorate Armistice Day.
The Prince of Wales will feature in a video message for the Royal British Legion’s Remembrance Assembly, which will be streamed on YouTube from 10.25-11.05 on 11th November. The virtual assembly is the flagship event for the Royal British Legion’s Teaching Remembrance programme and will bring together young people aged 9-14 in schools, libraries, home education and other learning settings across the UK.
The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, will lay a wreath to acknowledge Armistice Day at 7 Combat Signal Regiment Memorial, during Her Royal Highness’ visit to Gallipoli Barracks, in Brisbane to celebrate the centenary of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals.
To conclude commemorations and also mark the 80th anniversary of VJ Day, the King and Queen will host a reception for veterans who served in the Pacific the Second World War and their families at Windsor Castle.
