I had to have unexpected surgery yesterday. I went to the ER yesterday for very bad pain in my left side, and they ran a bunch of tests. including a C scan and an EKG. It turned out I had a large kidney stone blocking everything in my left kidney. They were just going to do a scope today, but changed their minds when the urologist had a look at not only the current scan, but also the scan from 2 years ago (this is not my first kidney rodeo). He told me what was going to happen in preoperative. "Going under" terrifies me, despite all my surgeries, so this was really scary.

I am okay, but am still in hospital for observation, given certain other health issues I have. Hopefully I will head home later today. My kitty Merlin is currently being taken care of by friends who adore him and whom he adores in return, do that is one loss off my mind.
