1900 - Hon. Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon was born, the 9th child and 4th daughter of Claude Bowes-Lyon, Viscount Glamis, later known as 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and his wife Cecilia Cavendish-Bentinck. The place of her birth is not known for certain. The birth was registered in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, near the Strathmores' home of St Paul's Walden Bury.
