The dress's designer is apparently a friend of Delphine. She wore the dress and sunglasses as a way of supporting LGBTQ+ in Belgium and sending a message that they are included too. That's an admirable idea, but the execution was just plain awful. There are a number of Belgian designers whose clothing she could have worn for the same message instead and wouldn't have looked bad.
