1900 - His Serene Highness Prince Louis of Battenberg, later known as Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma was born at Frogmore House, in the grounds of Windsor Castle, as the youngest child and the second son of Prince Louis of Battenberg and his wife Princess Victoria of Hesse and by Rhine. His eldest sister was Princess Alice of Battenberg mother of Prince Philip The Duke of Edinburgh.

With his brother George Mountbatten who became 2nd Marquess of Milford Haven.
