The King met Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni for a private meeting.





He later attended a performance at Mattatoio, engaging with drama students to explore Shakespeare's influence on Italian culture. Then went on to attend with President Sergio Mattarella a ‘Clean Power for Growth’ Roundtable, co-hosted by David Lammy and Antonio Tajani.





Meanwhile the Queen was visiting Istituto Comprensivo Alessandro Manzoni. Where she met schoolchildren learning about Paddington Bear and presented certificates to those who participated in a special writing competition marking the British Council’s 80th anniversary.

The King then gave an historic address to the Italian Parliament. First time a British Sovereign had ever done so. He made the address partly in Italian.
