Andamooka Opal Necklace - This piece was designed and created by the Australian Wendts Limited Jewelry house. It is described as a necklace comprised of ornate scrolls made of diamonds set in 18 carat palladium. The piece features the exquisite Andamooka Opal which was found in 1949 in the Australian Andamooka Opal Fields. It was gifted to Queen Elizabeth II by the Australian government while the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were in Australia during the March 1954 Coronation Tour. Queen Elizabeth II wore this piece publicly only once during the 1954 Coronation tour before leaving Australia. The piece has not been publicly seen since.
