1901 - The Funeral of Queen Victoria took place. It was conducted according to instructions Victoria had written in 1897.

The very first film of a Royal Funeral. The film shows the short procession from Osbourne House on the Isle of Wight, then the boat crossing the Solent. Then follows the procession to St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle. There is a second clip included showing the ascendance of the steps at St. George's Chapel which is a bit confusing. (No sound of course)

After the service in St. George's Chapel The cortege followed by close family members, including female members made it's way to the Frogmore Mausoleum. The image shows it passing through the Quadrangle before heading out of the Castle and down the Long Walk to Frogmore.
