According to the BBC World Service, as of the middle of last week, everything was set to go to trial on Mon. NGN submitted it's list of witnesses to be called plus evidence/info obtained during discovery and submitted to Harry's legal team. Suddenly, Harry's legal team wanted to sit down and discuss settlement.
Chris Hume, a BBC presenter or former presenter was one of the people suing NGN, he stated he "had" to settle for 10 million pounds along with the other 38 claimants. He stated that he, himself along with "many others that settled are furious with Harry." Hume further stated that up until the end of last week, Harry assured them that he would never settle and would go to trial.
If Harry would have refused to settle and received a small amount than the proposed settlement, he would have been looking at his legal costs plus around $12 million in legal costs per NGN.
Sorry, I posted the first bit and hit "post" too soon.
