1486 - King Henry VII married Princess Elizabeth of York. Through their marriage they united the houses of York and Lancaster. The unification of the houses of York and Lancaster by this marriage is symbolized with the heraldic emblem of the Tudor rose, a combination of the white rose of York and the red rose of Lancaster. The marriage produced 8 children, 3 of which survived into adulthood. King Henry VIII of England, Queen Margaret, Consort of James IV King of Scots and Mary, Duchess of Suffolk and also Queen Consort of France.
