1974 - HM Queen Elizabeth II and Princes Anne welcomed the men who saved the Princess from a kidnapping attempt in March of that year. Princess Anne and her then husband, Captain Mark Phillips attended a charity event on behalf of the Riding For The Disabled Association of which Princess Anne is a Patron. On their way back to Buckingham Palace from the event their car was forced to stop on the Mall by a Ford Escort. The driver of the Escort, Ian Ball, jumped out and began firing a pistol. He demanded that the Princess get out of the car. Her reply has gone down in history "Not bloody likely". The Princess so after the attempt visit some of the rescuers in hospital.
