Louise eventually became very close to her stepsons, especially Bertil and Carl. Ingrid was very close to her mother, so it took her much longer to appreciate Louise. I think it was only after Margrethe's birth that Ingrid and Louise became close.

IIRC there was a problem with Louise not being sufficiently Royal enough to marry Carl Gustav, with some Swedish politicians raising the issue with the British government. Parliament declared that yeppers, Louise was Royal enough, and they got married.

I think LOuise gets overshadowed by her sister Alice,but her life was almost as unconventional as Alice's in many ways.
