I love the kimonos as well. What I notice about this garden party is that everyone seems more informal. The deeply-ingrained habits of politeness are still there, but I don't think I have ever seen an Emperor and Empress laugh and joke with attendees like this. And Aiko--wow. That very shy and nervy girl we all knew is gone. She's polished and professional,but charming too. Now if the IHA would allow her to wear less frumpy clothing...
