1485 - Henry VII was crowned as King of England and of France and Lord of Ireland. Mostly overshadowed by his Son (King Henry VIII) and his Grand-daughter (Queen Elizabeth I) he is an interesting person. Spent 14 years in exile in Brittany which at in that era was independant from France as King Edward IV and then Richard III tried to have him returned to England where he most certainly would have been killed/murdered as he was the one Lancastrian claiment to the English throne remaining. His daughter Margaret married James IV King of Scots (and it through them that the current British monarch descends from). We all know about his son Henry. His youngest daught Mary first married the aged King of France and when he died she married Charles Brandon 1st Duke of Suffolk. Lady Jane Grey was her Grand-daughter vis Jane's mother Frances. There's more to the Tudors than just Henry VIII and his children.
