I can't read the former PM's mind for his reason of including/repeating info that is already known in his book.
The story concerning his conversation with Harry, is iffy and probably should not have been put in the book unless he got permission from the Palace since it was a Constitutional issue. I have a feeling there may be more revelations in his book that may have people scratching their heads as to whether he should have included them.
As for a gong, the former PM will receive one, in time. Mrs. Thatcher and the Queen reported had a rocky relationship, she was awarded. Tony Blair did the unthinkable when he wanted the Britannia decommissioned, it was some years before he was awarded/got the gong, but it happened.
