Meghan works with a stylist, not the designers themselves, so the clothes are on loan and cannot be altered. A designer would make darn sure that the garment was fitted perfectly, whereas the stylist is more of a broker that arranges for the use of an outfit. Meghan isn't getting her pick of what's on the runway, she wears what her stylist can negotiate for her. Lesser and unknown brands that need the exposure. That's why we aren't seeing her in Dior, Givenchy, Chanel or Jennie Packham. They want to keep their doors open to dress Catherine and eventually Charlotte.
