And he was forced to disclose private conversations so that the general public would see that he (and his wife) was right and everybody else was wrong. He didn't really want to do those interviews, write that book, or make that documentary. He was forced to do those things because the Bank of Charles closed its doors to him.
But that's no reason for his family to cut him out of the loop and go on with their lives as if he doesn't exist. Just as the late Queen needed him to make sure she had the right people around her, so too Catherine needs him to "support" her (whatever that means) when she makes public appearances. I mean, when you need support, who else would you turn to other than the man who remained silent when his supporters called you a racist?
