"Personal property" is not the Royal Collection which functions these days in the manner of a museum (I believe).

I hope one day we will learn, officially, where the personal jewellery of Queen Elizabeth II now belongs.
I have the feeling - just a feeling - that it was not all inherited by the King. Probably some but not all.
Arrangements could have been put in place in the late Queen's lifetime.
But until something is published, authoritively, there is mostly speculation, and confusion with the Royal Collection.
Afterthought: perhaps that Turquoise tiara was not personal property of Princess Margaret.
