Queen Mary brought in many new pieces to the Royal by her purchases of Russian jewels ie. the iconic Vladimir Tiara and pieces from Empress Maria Feodorovna. She also dismantled she had received and refashioned new pieces such as tiaras and brooches. Mary had an eye for jewelry and design.
This is somewhat off topic, I wish the Teck Crescent Tiara would make a debut some day, I love that tiara. I would love to see the Strathmore Rose Tiara repaired and restored...it would make a nice tiara for Charlotte when she's old enough to wear a tiara. I would love to see the York Rose bracelet, the last time it was seen was on when Queen Mary was Princess of Wales.
