I remember reading that Willemstad Alexander wasn’t as popular as Beatrix before he became king. His standing had improved after marrying Maxima and they started a family. While I do remember the anger at the attempted trip during Covid and the vacation home plans being nixed, I honestly thought that they had improved their standing and gained back that ground.

Amalia passed on collecting her $1M when she turned 18, which was the right thing to do. But then she was threatened at school and had to return home from the dorm. While the nature of the attacks wasn’t revealed it surprised me that she would be targeted.

I guess Beatrix’s goodwill did not extend out to the rest of the family. Is that why we see so little coverage of the others? To keep the eye centered on W-A and his A team?
