The King and Queen came under fire during the Covid crisis by taking a vacation to their Greek holiday home while the rest of the Netherlands, actually the world were under strict Covid restrictions. The Greek vacation home, as with the vacation home that was planned in Mozambique was criticized, while the African home plan was sacked, the Greek home went ahead. I think that the public feeling is Willem Alexander is not as in touch with the public as his Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother were.
Alexia does have a problem with the cameras. We See a lot of model poses. Looking over her shoulder, the hand on the hip...posing. Is that bad? Not necessarily, but at her recent solo engagement, Alexia was much more interested in the media and having her pictures taken than the actual purpose for her engagement, at one point she appeared very bored when officials were explaining things and showing her around. Okay, it can go with her age, but it doesn't go well with the public.
