Carlo's wealth came from marrying Camilla. They are friends with Mary and Frederik plus Pavlos and Marie Chantal and I think Haakon/ Mette-Marit.
Camilla is in a legal tangle with her sister over money her sister was denied/stolen from that came from Camilla and her mother. Carlo has been involved in questionable dealings, but I have to look it up for sure.
One of the main shady things he did was a reconciliation agreement/pact was signed by Carlos and Pedro of the Calabria side in 2014. (Guy Stair Saintly was instrumental in the reconciliation) In May of 2016 Carlo broke the reconciliation pact by naming Maria Carolina Duchess of Calabria. The Calambrian branch declared the Reconciliation off, null and void. Maria Chiara was given the title of Duchess of Noto by Carlo.
Years and years ago Carlo initiated his own branch of the Constantinian Order, the first recipient of the Order for helping to bring peace to the world was Bashir Al-Assad and his wife....yeah that was a joke in 2011.
Camilla and Carlo, like Emanuele Filiberto have now turned to reality tv in Europe with tours of their homes, talking about being "Royal" etc., although Carlo and Camilla have more money than the Savoys. Several years ago Town and Country had a huge spread/story about Camilla and her life "as a Royal".
