"Princess Anne has visited the set of Coronation Street as the soap opera gears up to introduce a devastating new acid attack storyline.

The royal, 72, was taken on a tour of the filming locations in Greater Manchester today in her role as Patron of The Acid Survivors Trust International (ASTI).

The charity has been advising the show's producers and writers on a series of upcoming episodes, which will see Daisy (played by Charlotte Jordan) be targeted in an acid attack by her stalker Justin.

During her visit, the Princess Royal - who previously visited the set in 2016 - was given a preview of some of the scenes, which will air next week."
