Catherine wore Erdem because--gasp--she wanted to wear that outfit. Imagine that!
Also, Erdem didn't prioritize Catherine over Meghan because she was the higher-ranking Royal. It prioritized Catherine over Meghan because Catherine actually paid for her clothes, whereas Meghan expected loans, at least one of which she never sent back. A company is always going to favor a customer who pays over one who expects freebies.
