It's in his work of fiction and was written well before Lisa Merie's death. It's being highlighted because of the tragedy. I suspect Harry's taste in home decor didn't get much beyond posters on the wall and a giant tv on the wall, so this seems more like his wife's take on the place, rather than his own.
