The story was about the stockings and breeches worn previously by Georges V and VI. It says Charles was willing to wear those but senior aides advised against it, as "too dated".
I agree actually. The King will look better in naval uniform but I'm intrigued as to how the anointing will be done then - possibly on head and hands only.
