I couldn't stand Harry during his "cheeky" days, as a matter of fact, I didn't much like William either with the excessive partying and drunken escapades. I've said before if someone had stated to me back then that William would turn out to be 360 degrees different than what he was, I would have been rolling on the floor laughing.
Back to Harry, to me, the entire "fear of being irrelevant and turning into his uncles and aunt" was an excuse and it got him as the center of attention from the staff. He didn't want to work at becoming a person of note by his own hard endeavors, he wanted the staff/HM/Charles to set up everything for him, in other words, they do the work and he sits back, waiting for the results and expecting great things to happen to him.
Harry couldn't ride on the Cambridge's coat tails forever, but he sure as heck didn't really do much of anything to establish his own life and legacy. He was the exact man for Meghan, she can smell vulnerability and someone who can be easily manipulated, Harry is such a person. She focused on his, "poor me, I'm the second son" and his mommy infatuation.
His jealousy of George is immaturity and George took away the media spotlight that was on Harry for so many years, Harry didn't like that, that was the main reason for the big "I'm going to be irrelevant when George turns 18."
