I agree, more than needed of Tom Cruise, but the thought which came to mind immediately when I saw him interacting with his "fans," this is how A-listers greet their adoring crowds. At least one Z-lister thinks she is too good for such mundane things as greeting her abhoring, oops, I mean adoring, fans.
