In previous articles, it was mentioned that both Beatrice and Eugenie would be given "roles" and that teh Queen would no longer be making unaccompanied appearances.

I'm guessing the Queen had intended to attend this show and that Beatrice and Edo had been chosen to accompany her. When it was decided that the Queen could not attend, Bea and Edo went without her.
