Fun article, but with a few errors. The succession just can't be altered willy-nilly and, while people did love the glamour of the Kents, the Yorks were ahead of them in the line. Plus the Yorks were already being presented as an ideal family unit and were a known quantity to the public. Were there behind the scenes concerns about Bertie's uncertain temper and his ability to lead? Sure, but there were also behind the scenes concerns about Georgie's past drug use and his alleged liaisons with people of both sexes. Not to mention there was the Duke of Gloucester, not yet married in 1934 but still ahead of Georgie in the succession.
IIRC Marina's alleged to have pushed for Georgie to accede, though.
