Now there's the finger pointing. "It's not me, it's him" with the crossed arms pointing in both directions.
Michael Fawcett is a smarmy, oily, grifter who got into the confidence of Charles by pretending loyalty to the max and being his enforcer. He's probably been privy to confidential info that Charles has passed on for years. Naturally, he took on Camilla's cause, the apple of Charles eye and received the carte blanche to "run" things. He preyed on Charles being naive from the start.
Is Charles innocent? Absolutely not. Fawcett messed up big time twice and Charles took him back, but when Fawcett "resigned" he got the giant golden parachute from Charles. Charles should have learned the first time, he didn't, he should have surely learned the second, he didn't. Fawcett probably put on the biggest acting role of his life and groveled back to Charles, "it won't happen again", Charles and Camilla didn't listen to their staff. Charles may be innocent in it all, but he's looking foolish and stupid, and it's a big stain on him.
In all fairness, Charles can't look down on Andrew and Fergie, his hands aren't all that clean. Diana, for all her faults, could be pretty shrewd about people. She was correct about Fawcett and correct in changing the locks to her apartment.
