Unless, as the Daily Mail's Richard Kay reported today, Charles is considering passing the title instead to William's youngest son Prince Louis.
One, I doubt Charles will still be alive when Louis gets married, which is when dukedoms are usually handed out.
Two, I know mathematics and logic were never Charles's strong subjects, but once again, he wants to give something to the sons of future monarchs which he intends to deny to the son of the current monarch.
Three, karma can be a b!tch. There's no guarantee he'll outlive his mother. He may currently hold the Edinburgh dukedom, but if he dies before his mother does, it passes to William. He's tempting fate if he's going around saying it's his title and he can give it to whomever he chooses.
