This means neither Harkle will be welcomed back into the royal roster. I know, it wasn't on the horizon that they would return to Toad Hall and start up again with appearances, tours and walkabouts. But any hope Harry had of reclaiming his military patronages is gone, any hope Meghan may have had of being some kind of royal ambassador under King Charles is gone.
For the former staff it means they are in good standing as prospective hires and employees because their separation from the Susseexes was not due to job performance, as Meghan had claimed. While BP may have know this, because of the protective bubble around H & M other employers may have only gone by Meghan's comments. Now that those comments have been disproved, can they be considered defamatory by the court? Did employees miss out on other job opportunities because of what Meghan said about them? This could give former employees legal ground to sue the Harkles for any careers tanked and money lost.
Finally, it means that with the protective bubble having been popped everything hidden will come out. The palace pr machine will not smooth over any rough patches for the Sussexes, they will rally only to protect the queen and the monarchy. All of those uncomfortable details will come out no matter how bad it makes them look.
