By the time of the interview and on to the accident, Diana was bat crazy with paranoia. She should have been properly treated by professionals in mental health and more than likely, medications. Diana would have never agreed to any treatment, even recommended by close friends or her siblings. She never listened to anyone unless he/she went along with her ideas or actions.
The individuals around her fed into her paranoia for their own egos and gain. Burrell was probably the worst. Bashir took advantage of the situation, but Charles Spencer can't get away from everything, he stated that when he saw the fake bank acct. records, he washed his hands of it and Diana did the interview. The thing is, the fake records were supposedly of an ex-employee of Charles Spencer's, well if Spencer was leery of Bashir's intent, why didn't he contact the former employee with questions about the story he was told and the bank statements shown to him by Bashir? I certainly would have. When Spencer was talking about all of this a few weeks ago, he passed over all this info without any further explanation. Diana would have done whatever she had her mind set on and she did, but Charles Spencer was just as much to blame. They both wanted to get back at Charles and the Royal Family for revenge.
In Paris, that whole trip and canoodling with Dodi was to make Dr.Khan jealous and to again get revenge on Charles and the Royal Family with an Egyptian/Muslim "boyfriend". Dodi's father was bent on revenge with the British Govt. and the Royal Family as well. That worked out well.
The part of Al-Fayed sending the gifts to the police? He should have been nabbed for bribery, that's plainly what it was.
