I agree, really, the only thing that was affecting Meghan's mental health was that her grand plans weren't panning out, being THE star of the Royal Family and having to comply with the protocols plus duties expected of a Royal. Her attempts at writing her own rules went only so far and then were shot down.
Meghan's own crisis was too similar to Diana's. In a article written earlier this year, it was said that the only thing that Meghan felt could "help" her was moving back to Calif. As I've said for someone going through a severe mental health crisis, a sudden and dramatic change in his/her routine makes things worse. It's amazing how she's "pulled through" without receiving an iota of therapy and really bounced back when she got to Calif.
The thing for me that spelled out fabrication was the claim about going to HR to help her and the fact that if the situation was so dire, Doria wasn't informed and the absence of any reference to medical professionals helping her. Add Harry's idiotic claim that he didn't know what to do.
They both got caught in a lie.
