The motion for summary judgement trial was supposedly to take place last week, but that info was either wrong or the trial date was moved. Meghan's lawyers want the Judge to make a judgement in the case based on the facts so far in an effort to eliminate a trial. It's really not the usual custom for the plaintiff's attorney's to file for summary judgement, many times it goes against the plaintiff. Her attorney's aren't too bright and/or Meghan is throwing tantrums for them to proceed with the motion.
The delay to Oct. "could" have been requested by Meghan's team in the hope that summary judgement goes in their favor and Meghan wouldn't have to face a trial or if the decision is not in her favor, to give her legal team more stalling time.
"A summary judgement occurs when, in a civil case, one party wants to move to a court decision without a trial. That only happens however, when the two parties agree to the critical facts of the issue, and the law allows summary judgement based on the undisputed facts at hand."
Note: The two parties have to agree to the critical facts of the lawsuit.
