My mom broke hers when she slid off a t-bar lift at Monarch Mountain Ski Area way back in the 1950s. My dad broke his dismounting from a chairlift at Keystone in the mid 1970s. They both said it hurt like (a very, very hot place).

I hope Mette-Marit recovers quickly and doesn't have much pain. She doesn't need this on top of her other health issues!
