How I spent Christmas Day

For a number of reasons I was alone yesterday, but not lonely. While checking the news in the morning, I read about the death of Stella Tennant, who is known to me as a granddaughter of Deborah Mitford, the 11th Duchess of Devonshire. After a dinner of lobster with buttered bread crumbs, mashed potatoes and asparagus, I began re-reading Deborah's "Wait for Me". She has a photo with Stella, but doesn't write about her. I enjoyed reading the accounts of attending the Order of the Garter ceremony and other Royal events. Deborah was a great friend of Prince Charles.
