It could be the reason for the postponement, but delaying the proceedings for a year is too much. I could see Meghan trying for another pregnancy to further delay a trial, she doesn't understand that if repeatedly delaying legal proceedings ends in severe penalties and she'll have to show up or her case will be dismissed.
I think the essay was an attempt to gain sympathy from the judge. Meghan also doesn't realize lawsuits are adjudicated solely on facts and evidence, not emotions.
The essay portion about the miscarriage, if you disregard the theatrics and drama of the first few paragraphs, wasn't that bad, but then she made a critical error in turning 180 degrees and including politics and her political views. It completely took away from her "theme". It turned into yet another attempt at her so-called political ambitions.
The story about the taxi ride in NYC when she was a teenager and the crying woman, her point about wishing she would have told the cab drive to stop and turn around, wasn't really the point, was it?
The point was she, in fact, didn't do anything when she had the chance. My friend said this is about the 6th or 7th time Meghan has brought up that story. What was supposed to be a meaningful act with the essay turned out to be more of another act of seeking attention from a US public that have many, many more problems in their lives right now. It didn't help that it came from a woman living a very privileged life in a luxury mansion in Santa Barbara and has never know hunger, unemployment or homelessness.
