I kind of 'learned' about the dressing up etc. from Rockwell prints and movies/T.V. My parents weren't big on holidays with food other than Thanksgiving and Christmas. I didn't have Easter baskets growing up, just plastic eggs. So, I made sure that my children had them.
I didn't know that baskets were the dessert. I always pictured cakes etc.
I did sometimes get those large chocolate eggs with the delicious fillings, once I was a teen. The type that you can slice.
My granny - maternal grandmother - ate dinner on holidays at lunchtime, too, with supper being leftovers, usually, later on. I was always intrigued by that.
Traditions are very important.
