My latest hankering is for a green salad with tuna, raw zucchini, Romaine lettuce, Roma tomatoes, onion - red, and yellow.
I also like the tiny tomatoes.
Any bell peppers I have that I didn't freeze, corn or peas, snap if I have fresh. Cut Green beans, cucumber, etc.
Also canned tiny shrimp, or large shrimp.
Bean sprouts, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, croutons - mine made from heels of multigrain loaves, corn Niblets, S&P.
Instead of tuna I dice up chicken, or Spam. I also add parm and or grated cheddar.
lettuce: Romaine, baby Spinach, Iceberg and now Butter head. Haven't had it for a while. Plus other types, Red leaf, varieties of leaf lettuce, Radicchio.
I'm not into many lettuces of the Chicory family. But No Kale - I don't like it. 8-)
For dressings: Olive oil with balsamic vinegar.
or store bought: Ranch, Bleu Cheese, Italian,
I vary the contents so my salads are new every time.
My favorite restaurant salad is a Cobb salad
Also Hot German potato salad - my family's recipe and Cole slaw - to which I add poppy seed. I grate the slaw very finely.
