Tossed in huge can of smashed tomatoes, 1 can of tomato paste and 1 medium can of tomato sauce.
Cooked dices onions in olive oil, gold & green bell peppers, added herbs, spices, garlic and Worcestershire sauce.
I haven't made spaghetti sauce for months. but was happy with the flavor. I have 6 double servings containers in the freezer now. I like a thick sauce and was very happy with the final result.
I have been snacking on a tablespoon of peanut butter occasionally. I let Charlie lick the spoon. LOL. We also had some popcorn - another snack not had for months.
I have been eating the mixed greens - the first meal I left the greens whole but added tuna with ranch. The leftovers for lunch were better then the original salad. The third meal I chopped the greens and tossed in poppy & sesame seeds, onion, roma, green peas, peppers and added Italian dressing with Parm. Better then the first salad.
I also clean the fridge. Yuck! It was a summery day yesterday and got some awesome photos. The full moon rising in the East through the trees, and one that came out really well was a photo of cedar trees as the sun went down. Boy am I proud of that photo.
Right now temps are back to low 30's. I am tired of close to freezing temps.
I also had the last of the egg, sausage, cheese on rolls things. LOL
The last of the avocados have been A toast all week. I am addicted!
Lunches - salads, turkey sandwiches, cheese sandwiches. No soup this week. Dinners were often leftovers. The BBQ chicken is gone. That was good. Plus rice and peas, but no pork & rice this week. I made deep fried zucs. Ok, but I will bake the last one. I have no grated parm...used sliced & diced up a mix of parm and other cheese. How did I forget to buy parm?
Lots of berry waffles in the freezer. Plus I had bacon & peanut butter sandwich, and Bacon, Lettuce & tomato, I did not run out of bread this week. came close though. 8-) Of course had my smoked turkey with cheese, etc on Brioche. But am almost out of Maille Whole Grain old style mustard. I so love that mustard.
Had to buy lots of peanut butter - between Charlie and I we eat a fair amount of it, a teaspoon or tablespoon full at a time. He's the teaspoon full.
I didn't enjoy the Tilapia fish as much as I could have. I forgot to put lime juice on it. If I had it would have been good. Funny how 1 bit of something can make or break a food.
I have been eating breakfast really early - 4 to 5 am. 8-( I wake at 4am every morning now. Charlie gets a small bowl of his dry food and two tiny bones then goes back to sleep. I grab coffee and read.
I've been working on the house chores. DD's bedroom is looking much better with the most obvious piles of boxes gone to the trash. I haven't put the tarp out on the trailer as either wind or rain forecast. Mostly high winds.
I have loved being out in a high wind on a sunny day. Cold but I love it.
Charlie is definitely slowing down.
Yesterday - the 17th - was Boy's 55th birthday. He and his wife went to a very expensive Russian restaurant. It took a long time to eat the food,,,, I need to post the restaurants name and menu. It was over 200$. Just for the two of them. But the best food they have had in a long time. They used to go out to good restaurants, but with Covid they had to put it off.
Well, I need some hot coffee. My French Press is definitely better for me. The coffee is milder - still Folgers but Decaf. The Press only makes two "normal sized" cups of coffee - not two mugs worth. So I make 4 pots full and that lasts me two days. I store it in spaghetti sauce jars. LOL.
Well, it's 6:30 and still dark out. Charlie is wandering the house looking out the windows. LOL
No deer lately, but the woodpecker is back in A's trees. along with a number of squirrels - love to watch them as I do the dishes.
The local Red tailed hawk is out calling either for a mate or alerting other hawks off claiming it's territory. It lives at the bottom of the hill in a tall Oak tree.
The Sparrows, lots of the song birds, and doves are back. I love to sit on the front porch as I have coffee and they swarm the driveway. I still have't seen any of my Inca doves. They all, except the Inca Doves, flock to the back yard for peanuts and Chances leftover seeds - plus some wild seed and sunflowers, etc.
I do love it here. I will send you the two photos. I think you will like them
Hope your weather evens out. DD had tons of HAIL this past week. The photos on the news were amazing. Wonder what strange weather we will have here. Take care.
