The only window is over the kitchen sink and looks out of my two giant Oak trees and is the playground for the birds and squirrels. I meditate while washing dishes.
But my clothes trunk that is a closet type truck is 4 feet high and is the wall between the kitchen & the dining room. The bar counter runs from the kitchen wall out towards the dining room. The trunk runs parallel to the kitchen sink counter.
It creates an aisle between the dinning room table - seats 6 - and the trunk... leaving an entry into the kitchen as the fridge is the 4th wall.
My decor in my kitchen window and dining room windows are tiny mirrors and reflectors that send prisms rainbows all over the walls.
But I also have a bit of whimsy dangling from the kitchen overhead light that hangs just at the end of the trunk. It is a metal bird with a bell on an elastic tug rope. I attached some bows, some tiny bells, and other bits of whimsy. When I walk by I give my old shell necklace from the 60's a tug and the bird and bells tinkle and dance in the air.
That's pretty much it except for the huge plate full of really great fossil finds that sit in the middle of the dining room table.
I have two plants - one on the table - a succulent, and another at the end of the bar counter, also a succulent. I do have a leaf of one of my plants by the kitchen window as a starter.
The only other thing I have hanging on the cupboard doors are instruction and recipes that I use alot.. or rarely. lOl.
I don't think this is what you had in mind.
Oh, this is all an open floor plan. Huge living room with arched ceiling. Dining room/kitchen. LOL Lots of nick knacks. I wanted my home to look like my grandparents and it does!!!
