But for the house (all inclusive) I had to buy 3 Pens, Printer Ink, Toilet paper & Glade spray for the cat box area.
My food shopping was limited also. I ordered from IPFoods & "S."
The temp driver with Schwans told me my AARP discount was stopped. So I had to call AARP to find out why. It was good through 2027. Yeah, I know. Apparently I was over paying.
Anyway, I was told to call Schwans and have them restart my discount. which they did and applied to my current order. Apparently the Temp driver was in error. She thought AARP hd to renewed every year... not per "S". Thing is they had 3 email addys for me. I have no idea where the 3rd came from. The 2nd was my Google backup email... plus my third which was the one my account should have been connected to.
Then a third thing.. this morning I received paperwork from the state with forms that I was to fill out for The Snap program. FOOD. I called the state - now that took forever and their system is a mess. But finally connected and though the paperwork says I must.. I was able to decline it. First I have no car.... or local transportation. Plus I already have four sources for food. "S", IMP Foods, and then Walmart and Amazon. I just didn't want to take $ from someone else who Needed it.
Holy Moly, what a mixed up mess this week has been. Starting with the Covid snafu, then the stuff listed above.
I also have been trying to stop mailings from the WOunded Warrior project. I donated once in honor of my son & brothers... now I get something almost twice a week. Not just requests from bags, socks, etc. They are very difficult to get in touch with... I gave up after an hr of trying to stop the mailings. No luck there... so I will from continue to "return to sender" any mail I get from them. Very frustrating.
Oh I received a lovely bowl with various treats - pretzels, cookies, crackers, a fruit pie and choc salted caramel candy. I have tucked the treats away for those days when I need a pick me up. 8-)
Oh speaking of cheese I am also a cheese hound. I love Swiss and sharp cheddar. and buy some twice a week.
Batteries, I go through so many as I have to have those battery candles in the kitchen, living room and my bedroom. I just had to replace both my BOX flashlight batteries.. a tad expensive.
I have my weather radio which is not a radio... so I need to buy a radio I can use when walking Charlie. I hate using my cell phone to listen to my fave stations.
Trinity University has a JAZZ station that is online. It's a donation channel. People around the world apparently like it as much as I do.
Of course I still listen to NPR both their News channel and their classical station. I have listened to both since High school.
Oh have you watched the New David Tennants "Around The World in 80 Days" on PBS. I grew up on David Nivens version.... so wasn't sure if I would like this. I though David Tennant might be too much DR Who. Oh it is really good. I love his version.
Ok I need to fess up that I ran out of bread and a few other things. The last orders were skimpy ones. But I luckily was able to get some good stuff this past Fri & Sat.
I reuse alum pie plates, and I buy those small rectangle packs and I reuse all of them until they fall apart.
I use much less foil now. I use one piece on the tray of my Toaster over - which I need a new one & a new hot plate , both are used to death.
But the parchment paper is used in place. Not sure where you use your foil most. ANyway you can replace it with parchment paper? I recycle ALL my storage bags.... etc. I can't afford to replace them all the time either.
I don't buy as much meat as I should. I have some hamburger & but ordered some chicken breasts for
the new order. Ok food later.
I'll post what I bought in another post.
OK so what is going on? You haven't been around for a few days. All ok???
Ok off to take CHarlie out with his ball.
Take care...
