The heaters of this style, while really great in all other ways, are a stupid design when it comes to having to have electricity on to run them. They run on fuel. But, you have to have electricity on or else the fan stops going around. The fan stopping shuts off the unit - no heat, then the plate, which is already hot, can warp, and need to be replaced. Dumb! Dh swears that they could have easily made the design so that the fan could run regardless of electricity (lots of people lose electricity in the winter.) and the plate would never warp.
Yes, that's a possibility. I've found the same. The more consecutive cold days/nights, the worse the problem. I hope that you are just able to keep the tap open.
That's a shame about the shipping costs. But, the lists sound good.
Now, that's my kind of breakfast; chicken pot pie! :-)
Yes, stay as warm as you can. I'm currently wearing my fingerless gloves...mittens?...because at 5:30 it's already mid-30's and 55 inside. My hands feel like ice, and I wasn't going to be able to type without them. They aren't super warm, but keep all but my fingertips warmer than not wearing them!
Here's hoping for an improved new year for us all!
